Wah Fai Food, a food store located near Tai Wai MTR station, is going to move away from its original location due to the reason of lease.

As soon as the news came out, many old customers came and seized the last chance to taste the snack. Fortunately, the storekeeper has found a new shopfront and would be able to move to there at the end of March.

Wah Fai Food, located on a bustling street in Tai Wai.

It is popular, even at 4 pm on weekdays afternoon, there was still a long line in front of the store.

This queuing continues to the night.

Customers need to order in front of the store, and standing by waiting for the food.

Wah Fai Food offers many kinds of snacks, but is mostly famous of its steamed rice roll with shredded chicken.

The shop assistant picks the steamed rice roll from a big deep box, and passes it to staff in the back of the store.

Staff inside the small store shreds the chicken and mixes them with peppers. Then pour them on top of the steamed rice roll.

According to the storekeeper Mr. Wan Yuen Hang, the property owner of this store refused to let him continue to rent this store with no reason. Mr. Wan has to find another place in a short time, otherwise he would have to interrupt the business.

Miss Pi Yang Chun, student from HKBU, is an old customer of the store. She said every time she came to this store, there were always her friends who asked her to help bring food back. This time she bought food for three of her friends. “I don’t know where the new address of the store is, but if I find out, I think I’ll still go to buy their food,” said Pi.

There is not seat for customers at the present address, people can only choose to bring food back, or stand on the street to eat like this couple.

The new address is not far from the present one, but a little bit far from the mainroad. Mr. Wan said the new address would have no effect on footfall. He also revealed that the new store will be larger and provide seats and air conditioning.
